Plain-language summary (not a substitute for the full text below): Operun-AI is a workplace tool for restaurants. We collect your phone number and the content you put into the app (messages, photos, documents, voice) so an AI assistant can answer your team's questions from your restaurant's own information. We use trusted AI and infrastructure providers to make this work. We never sell your data. You can delete your account and data at any time from inside the app.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Operun-AI collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our mobile application, our manager web portal, and the backend API that powers them (together, the "Service").

1. Who controls your data

Operun-AI is a business-to-business ("B2B") service. Restaurants and restaurant groups (each, an "Organization") sign up and invite their staff.

If you are a staff member, the Organization that invited you decides what data is uploaded and who can see it. Questions about your Organization's data should be directed to your Organization's owner or manager.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

2.2 Information collected automatically

2.3 Information we do not intentionally collect

We do not request precise background location, contacts, or special-category data beyond what you voluntarily place into your content. Please do not upload sensitive personal data you do not need the assistant to use.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

We do not use your content to train our own foundation models. See Section 4 for how our AI sub-processors handle data.

4. AI processing and third-party sub-processors

The Service relies on third-party providers ("sub-processors") to function. When you use the Service, the relevant content is sent to these providers solely to deliver the feature you requested:

These providers process data under their own terms and our agreements with them, which restrict use of the data to providing their services to us. We do not permit them to use your content to train their public models, where such controls are offered. We may add or change sub-processors as the Service evolves; material changes will be reflected in this policy.

We never share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or for any third-party marketing. We do not sell your personal information.

5. The AI assistant and accuracy

The assistant is designed to answer only from the verified information your Organization uploaded. If it does not have relevant information, it is designed to say so rather than guess.

Allergen and food-safety information is served directly from your Organization's database and is not generated, paraphrased, or inferred by the AI. Even so, the accuracy of allergen and other operational data is the responsibility of the Organization that entered it. Always follow your own food-safety procedures.

6. How we share information

We share information only:

7. Data retention

We retain your account and content for as long as your account (or your Organization's account) is active, and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete the associated data as described in Section 9. We may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, accounting, or security purposes, and we delete or anonymize backups on a rolling basis.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, multi-tenant isolation so one Organization cannot access another's data, and short-lived one-time codes for login. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of incidents where required by law.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights:

If you are a staff member and your request concerns content controlled by your Organization, we may direct you to, or coordinate with, your Organization.

You may withdraw consent or stop using the Service at any time; some data may remain as permitted in Section 7.

10. International transfers

We and our sub-processors may process and store your data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is a workplace tool intended for users 16 years and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact benny@operun.ai and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app and ask you to re-accept. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
